We were all created by Divine design. Psalm 139:13-16 (NIV) says,
“13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.”
YOU are God’s masterpiece. YOU are beautiful.
Go ahead and read that again. If you don’t believe that you are a beautiful masterpiece, then Satan has succeeded in his lie to you. Through today’s media (TV, magazines, computer…) he has given you a definition of beauty that is false. Satan is all about vanity. It’s no surprise since he was an extremely beautiful angel. The problem is that his heart became proud.
God is about more than physical appearances. He’s all about the heart..
1 Samuel16:7 (NIV) says “But the LORD said to Samuel, ‘Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.’”
It’s why Jesus said the greatest commandment is “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” Luke 10:25 (NIV)
Beauty is inside out. It begins with the heart then radiates outward. The Divine Design study teaches exactly that. The first week (The Perfect 10) centers around inner beauty with lessons on the heart. The second week (Mirror Mirror on the Wall) focuses on how to take care of the bodies God has given us.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NIV) tells us…
1″9 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.”
